Ken San Angelo

Senior Front-End Engineer

A portrait of me, Ken San Angelo

Hi, my name's Ken. I am a front-end web developer based in Boston, Massachusetts.

I have worked with several languages, tools and frameworks (including React, Typescript, Node, Express, and Wordpress), which has allowed me to constantly challenge myself and improve my skills. I'm not currently accepting freelance work, but I am always open to meeting new people so feel free to get in touch.

I am a graduate of the Web Design program at the University of Central Florida. While there, I was included in the School of Visual Arts and Design Premiere and Exhibition 2 years in a row for web-based projects that I worked on. I am also a founder of Design+Code@UCF, the web design and development club at UCF.

Besides web development, I also have a passion for playing guitar and banjo, photography and videography.

Our new site has created huge opportunities for cross-promotion between our brands and makes it easier to inform customers and convert leads. Beyond that, Ken has always been knowledgable, professional, and a blast to work with.

Developer, as a member of the Big Vision team

Problem

The company needed an e-commerce site that they could maintain and update over time to support their business strategies, while still being functional and great looking.

Solution

For this site, I chose to use Wordpress with Woocommerce so they could have the e-commerce functionality, and also have the ease of updating the site content as needed. I built a custom theme so that I could create the pages with handcrafted animations, and still give them the ability to add more pages as needed.

Results

H&H Products was very happy with the quality of their site, and they saw an increase in sales and attention from their clients and industry peers.

Problem

Users needed to be able to use the fonts on their websites, or bring them into their desktop applications for professional use (all while being secure, so that the fonts can't be stolen or linked to on the wrong website).

Solution

I built a desktop application using Electron that securely installed/uninstalled fonts so the user could use them in their applications, as well as a Node web application that generated and hosted CSS files, which approved sites could link or import and use on their websites.

Results

The functionality was a success, and the site continues to be maintained and improved over time for its users.

The home page of Gold Tone's website

Gold Tone Music Group

Summary

Gold Tone is a company that has several very different brands under their umbrella. Originally, they had separate websites for each one, but were unhappy with the lack of cross-promotion and brand awareness. I designed and built one website for all the brands, allowing customers to explore the different brands (including adding products from any brand to the same cart). They then saw a substantial increase in sales and leads for their lesser-known brands.

Problem

They wanted to increase cross-promotion and brand awareness between the customers of the different brand sites, as they were missing leads due to the separate sites.

Solution

I built one website that encompassed all of the brands, so customers could explore the different brands, switch between them, as well as add a mix of products to purchase all at once.

Results

They saw an enormous boost in sales and leads on all sites, especially in their smaller/newer brands.
